Dialysis patients are seeing staff shortages on a daily basis, resulting in facility closures, limited treatment hours, and other access to care issues.
Instead of making dialysis staffing a priority, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has proposed to a nominal increase of only 1.6%, less than 1/3 of the inflation rate in 2023. Rather than alleviating dialysis access issues, CMS is about to make it much worse.
DPC is urging CMS to show the public that dialysis patients matter, by providing adequate funding for dialysis treatment.
